Cheder Headteacher - Wimbledon Synagogue Cheder

The Wimbledon Synagogue still needs a Cheder Headteacher;

The Wimbledon Synagogue Cheder is:
  • A rapidly growing, exciting Sunday Cheder with over 130 children from pre-school through to GCSE
  • A strong teaching assistant programme, keeping our young people engaged in the Cheder community after GCSE
  • Part of the largest synagogue South of the Thames with nearly 900 members
 
We have:
  • A clear vision to engage our young people in Jewish life and expand their Jewish education
  • A newly refurbished building providing additional classrooms, an impressive library, and interactive learning resources
  • An independent nursery which brings new children into the Cheder
  • Enthusiastic, experienced teachers
  • Lovely children with bright, enquiring minds
 
You are:
  • A creative educator who enjoys sharing your passion for hands-on Jewish learning at all levels
  • Understanding of what excites and challenges young people in a Reform Jewish setting
  • Able to create Jewish educational experiences to encourage a love for lifelong learning
  • A leader and coach to other educators at all levels
  • Sensitive to the personal, social and emotional needs of young people and their families
  • Compassionate, diplomatic, and a good communicator with a sense of humour
  •  Committed to good governance and ensuring the Cheder has robust and up-to-date policies

  • To introduce new and exciting curricula
  • To be part of a welcoming community
  • To help us brighten the light of Jewish education in South London
