Lizzie Caplan has been JCP Chumash consultant teacher for Northern Schools since Sept 2011, and in Oct 2013 took on the role of Primary Chumash coordinator. Now Primary Jewish Studies Advisor for the North, Lizzie works together with the London team to support a range of partner schools in the delivery of JCP Kodesh curricula (in particular Chumash). She liaises with Heads of Kodesh to implement the Chumash curriculum as best suits their schools’ needs, and mentors individual teachers via individual meetings and classroom observations. Lizzie runs regular CPD for staff for Chumash, Parasha and Tefillah, facilitating the sharing of best practice between schools. Lizzie is also part of the team developing the Chumash curriculum teachers’ guides and resources which are used by schools both across the UK and internationally.
Originally from London, Lizzie holds a first class BSc (Hons) in Psychology, and as a graduate of the LSJS SCITT course, a PGCE in Primary Teaching. Following her move to Manchester upon her marriage, Lizzie taught Jewish Studies at King David Primary school for six years. She lives in Salford with her husband and four children.
